Activities

Trekking

Several of the thick mountain forest ranges are waiting for trekers, along with the streams of river lets from heights of 6000 ft. Share the secrets of the forest, which boasts a wealth of flora and fauna. There is every chance of seeing / encountering wildlife like deer’s, elephants, bisons etc…… Well maintained paths created over 5000 kms crisscrossing the mountain ranges and moderate uphill walks culminate in the beautiful view. Walking shoes are definitely advisable on this trip.

Bird Watching

The surroundings boasts of thick flora and fauna. This is a place for people who love bird watching with expert guides to help you. The birds are particularly varied and exotic, due to an immediate change in elevation of 3500 feet that provides a variety of climatic conditions, which appeal to over 320 species of birds. The sholas and jungles provide perfect habitat for them all year round. This is one of the renowned places for bird watching in INDIA.

Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary

You could also visit a Wildlife Sanctuary called “Mudhumalai” which is a couple of miles away from the town of Masinagudi. Mudumalai wildlife reserve was the first sanctuary in south India. Nature has been lavish in providing this sanctuary with thickly wooded hills, plateaus, deep valleys, waterfalls, rivers, marshes and streams. The varied flora and topography meet the ecological requirements of several species inhabitating the sanctuary and give the visitors a sense of satisfaction. There are many a animals in there. To point out a few, there are many asian elephants, tuskers, deers, Peacocks, Panthers, Lions and Tigers… The one horned Rhinos are also seen at times.

Safari

We provide both day and night safaris. Day safaris are taken in jeeps or atop tame elephants. Four people and a trained mahout will be carried by our resident gentle giant into the jungle, away from the beaten track, along the road not taken. Because the elephant actually goes through the jungle, chances of seeing game at close quarters are pretty good. Night safaris are taken only in jeeps for wildlife buffs who want to see the animals grazing in the middle of the night or in the wee hours of the mornings for the early risers. Superb setting for videos and pictures for you to remember. The ride usually lasts anywhere between 45 minutes to an hour

Waterfalls

Other Local Attractions are the Waterfalls at a place 10 miles away from Masinagudi called “MAYAR”. The Singara Power project of the BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electronics Limited) has a very remarkable spot. It has a cable car which is exclusively for workers, but if you are really interested in going for it, you can do so. It will ascend the hill at 90 raw vertical degrees and you really must take care then… Or you must be an Adventure Crazy!!! It is an unforgettable experience! You would also love the scenic tea estates all the way up the hill.

Campfire facility is available here. Campfire is usually an agreeable (and warm) way to pass the time from dusk to bedtime, particularly for those in a pensive mood
