I have been to many places in western ghats, the natural beauty always captivates me but its the nature that makes the trip from good to awesome.

I just remember it as a very special place as I can’t put it any better. Its a gem in between the trees with a river flowing and making a beautiful and soothing sound. Had a very pleasant stay at Baalecool Nature Stay. The staff were extremely friendly and made you feel at home. The food was good and reminded you of home cooked food. The lone negative aspect was the power.

I had been with a group of friends in June end and I found it was a pleasant place. The place is the same as shown in the website. We had the entire resort to ourselves as we were pretty big in group. The rooms were clean and pretty spacious and the restrooms were neatly maintained. But the biggest plus point of this homestay is its very quiet, calm and has a water stream which is flowing behind. We had bon-fire arranged as well which was very good as it was pretty cold in the evening. The chicken barbeque was too good and even for vegetarians she had prepared something with aloo which my frds loved. It’s really worth for the price offered and is also very nearby to Rottikallu Resort.

cool place to visit. Recent two visits to this place was awesome, good food and hospitality.

  • “Best place to unwind, resort amidst nature.”

What can I say, I choose this place as we were finding a place to go for the December vacation, first choice was Pondi, but all hotels were booked. I think it was blessing in disguise.

This place is very close to another resort RottiKallu, but it stands out, because it is pristine, right at the foothill of a hill, which you will taken up for trekking. A stream flows in the middle of the resort. There is also a waterfall inside the resort, but to see its glory one should visit during monsoon.
Let me tell you the best part of the stay, the staff here are the best I have seen, they make you feel heavenly. I have to admit (including my wife and kids), the food was really awesome, you get anything you ask for. If there are special requirement in food, talk to the staff, they will ensure it is done. I really put on a few pounds easily. food 5 stars.
The trekking was amazing, we never thought we could do it, but the person who took us, he was simply awesome, he made the trekking so easy, goading at us each stage, giving enough breaks, he ensured he carried enough water for everyone.

Also, this place has power supply (Generator will be switched on between 6:30pm to 10pm, post 10pm there will be enough backup for one light to work), rest of the time there is no power. Also one doesn’t get phone coverage, so its a total breakaway from all disturbance.
Kids never complained that they missed TV, because there isn’t one and you wouldn’t realize it.
Since no phone coverage, I switched off my BB and hence my office work :).
So if you are one of those whose essential need is phone, TV etc. Please don’t go here, you will end-up complaining and spoil your vacation.

Overall this break and stay at Baalecool gave every member of my family the much needed break and helped us rejuvenate.

This was a total digital detox for me 🙂

If you are one of those who enjoy serene, calm, good food, nature, trekking; then this is the place for you.

It was “one of a kind weekend getaway”!
Back-pack, spat-back and kick it off to Baalecool. It will surprise you by its own ravishing, serene beauty.
Do not expect much of an ambience…
Spring and green canopy would get you outta any mess of your mind.

Thank you for a splendid weekend gateaway 🙂

    Best Regards,

If you want to take a break – a real break from everything and longing for a i/me/myself/family time- this is the place! This place is completely cut off and amazingly beautiful.
Nestled in a cozy corner with a waterfall right in the midst, it cant better than this! With a very friendly support staff who go all the way to make their guests comfortable and a fantastic cook who would feed you with delicious malanadu food. This is one of the best off beat place for a nice short “break”. Dont miss slush volleyball and the 15 km long trek through the forest and the valleys.

All those folks who feel disabled and lost without mobile phone connectivity, wifi, TV et al wont find any reasons to complains because there is no regular power supply in the first place.

    Cheers!
    Hari

BaaleCool was one of the most amazing and spectacular camping spot we visited recently. We were 10 people from infosys who travelled in a TT . It was almost 5 hours of journey from Bangalore.
We took nice road and later toll roads till Sakleshpur. from Hanabal to BaaleCool we had to go through a bit of bumpy road for 8 kms but was more like off roading and didn’t tire us much .
The place is filled with exotic greenery and the cottages are placed perfectly amidst the trees which gives you a real feeling of staying in jungle. two streams running through the property
always keeps you touched to the nature and the sound of the stream and the pressure fountain is an added beauty. Food was pretty good and the service is impressive . All were friendly and also
welcomed our customized menu for the camp fire and break fast. Camp fire was one of the mentionable experiences. well planned fire place and fire woods were made available as and when we needed
and we were served with pakodas/bajjis as well.

Trekking was the best part . to and fro it was around 3.5 kms of trek and was not so tiring but good enough to make you feel hungry for the break fast that follows. The guide explained the
vegetation and the spices they are growing at the place on the way . if start early in the morning for the trek there are also chances of sighting some elephants as well. the view at the peak is
really mindblowing. Best view of western ghats ever.

The rooms and bathrooms were really clean , best part was the fittings in bathroom are of jaguar( !!!!). 24/7 hot water was made available.

Overall , it was a very good experience and must visit place . Personally i had the best camping experience till date and i will be surely visiting the place more than once.

Excellent place for a cool relaxed outing. Never expected its so beautiful. the best one is the campfire location on top of a pool. They have a fountain which goes 30 feet high which is a natural fountain working against gravity. the pleasant sound of the waterfall with campfire is the experience that anyone would love to have in a vacation. there is a beautiful falls hemavathi river inside resort where u can take bath. The trek in the morning leads you to a wonderful view of western ghats with wind speek 40km per hour. Nice food with very good cottages with quality bathrooms. The entire ambience is so cool. I went in Dec and the waterflow was continuous

  • A fantastic place for an outing in a group(mainly guys). The nature speaks here. There is slush volleyball, trekking and waterfalls as a part of entertainment. The view on the top of mountains is amazing. The campfire in the evening is an additional beauty. A suggestion though is to have more things to do from an entertainment perspective. Kids and females would get bored as there is not too much for them.
    Below are my reviews
    Food : 5 / 5 , Nature : 5 / 5 , Entertainment : 3 / 5, Rooms : 4 / 5 , Kids Friendly : 1 / 5, Staff Courtesy : 5 /5 , Booking easiness : 5 / 5, Mobile Network : 2 /5, Trekking : 5 / 5
