Eco & Nature Discovery Camp
Destination: Jim Corbett National Park (Uttarakhand)
Duration: 4 Nights / 5 Days
Theme: Exploring the Wild Side of India
This camp blends ecology, adventure, and culture in one immersive journey. Students will experience the Himalayan foothills, discover India’s biodiversity, and learn about conservation, sustainability, and rural life through interactive, supervised activities.
Day 1 – Arrival and Orientation in Corbett
Theme: Welcome to the Wilderness
- Arrival at Delhi airport and transfer to Jim Corbett National Park (approx. 6 hours by road)
- Packed breakfast and lunch en route
- Students are encouraged to observe and document landscape changes during the drive
- Arrival and check-in at an eco-lodge or nature camp near Corbett
- Welcome drinks and orientation briefing by the camp naturalist
- Distribution of camp kits (caps, notebooks, eco-passports, safety rules)
- Evening: “Know Your Jungle” Introduction Session
- Presentation by a wildlife expert on Jim Corbett’s flora and fauna
- Interactive quiz and discussion on India’s biodiversity
- Icebreaker games to form student teams for the week’s challenges
- Dinner and overnight stay at the camp

Day 2 – Wildlife Safari and Conservation Learning
Theme: Exploring the Forest Ecosystem
- Early morning: Jeep safari inside Corbett National Park
- Guided experience through the dense Sal forests and river belts
- Spot deer, elephants, langurs, and possibly tigers
- Fieldwork: Students record observations of animals, vegetation, and sounds
- Return to camp for breakfast
- Late morning: Wildlife Conservation Workshop
- Session with park rangers or conservationists on wildlife protection
- Students learn about poaching, tourism impact, and eco-sustainability
- Lunch at the camp
- Afternoon: Nature Walk and Tree Identification Trail
- Guided walk through the forest buffer zone
- Learn to identify native trees, bird calls, and animal tracks
- Activity: Create a “Leaf Journal” – students collect and document leaves
- Evening: Documentary Screening – “The Life of Jim Corbett and the Tigers of India”
- Reflection circle afterward to discuss key learnings
- Dinner and overnight stay at the camp

Day 3 – River Ecology and Adventure Day

- Morning: River Ecosystem Study (Kosi River)
- Visit the nearby riverbank for a hands-on workshop

- Activity: Collect small water samples for pH and cleanliness tests
- Picnic-style lunch by the river
- Afternoon: Adventure and Team Building Activities
- Ziplining, rock climbing, rope course, and obstacle races (supervised and age-appropriate)
- Group challenge: “Eco Treasure Hunt” – nature-based problem-solving competition
- Evening: Bonfire and Storytelling Night
- Students share stories, poems, or experiences about the day
- Campfire games and music
- Dinner and overnight stay at the camp

Day 4 – Sustainable Living and Village Immersion
Theme: Learning from the Land and the People
- Morning: Visit to a nearby Kumaoni village
- Guided interaction with local families
- Learn about organic farming, water management, and rural crafts
- Activity: Participate in farming or try traditional cooking
- Discussion: “What sustainability means in real life”
- Lunch with local cuisine at the village
- Afternoon: Upcycling and Eco-Art Workshop
- Students create artwork using natural or waste materials
- Presentation on “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” practices
- Evening: Cultural Exchange Program
- Folk dance and music performance by local villagers
- Students share a short performance, song, or skit in return
- Dinner and overnight stay at the camp

Day 5 – Reflection and Departure
Theme: From Awareness to Action
- Early morning yoga or mindfulness session in nature
- Focus on breathing, awareness, and gratitude for the environment

- Presentation of participation certificates
- Departure for Delhi after lunch
- Assisted transfers to the airport for the flight back home
