Day 1: 13 November – Arrival in Guwahati & Transfer to Shillong
Your journey begins at Guwahati Airport, where you’ll be greeted by our local representative. From here, embark on a scenic drive through rolling hills and pine forests as you make your way to Shillong (approx. 3.5 hours). En route, pause at the stunning Umiam Lake, a tranquil reservoir surrounded by forested hills — perfect for your first photo-op in the Northeast.
Arriving in Shillong, check in to your boutique hotel, ideally located near the buzzing town centre. Spend the evening at your leisure — perhaps strolling through Police Bazaar, sampling Khasi street food, or sipping hot tea in one of the local cafés.
Day 2: 14 November – Explore Shillong & Music Festival Evening
Start your morning with a hearty breakfast before heading out to explore some of Shillong’s cultural landmarks. Visit the serene Ward’s Lake, the neo-Gothic Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians, and the fascinating Don Bosco Museum, which offers a bird’s- eye view of the city from its skywalk.
Post lunch (on your own), get ready for the highlight of the day — The Meghalaya Cherry Blossom Music Festival. We’ll transfer you to the festival ground where the celebration unfolds with indie rock performances, regional music, food stalls, and cultural displays, all under a canopy of blooming cherry trees. Enjoy the show with your general access pass, and return to your hotel late evening with memories of a night buzzing with rhythm and color.
Day 3: 15 November – Canyon Views, Cafés & another Night of Music
Today, we dive deeper into the natural beauty of Meghalaya. After breakfast, drive to the spectacular Laitlum Canyon, a dramatic Cliffside offering panoramic views of mist- covered valleys — one of the most Instagrammed spots in the state. En route back, stop by Sweet Falls and visit hillside cafés surrounded by cherry blossoms in full bloom.
In the evening, we revisit the festival venue for another unforgettable evening of music and celebration. Let the rhythms take over as you mingle with fellow travelers and locals under a starlit sky.
Day 4: 16 November – Cherrapunji or Dawki & Mawlynnong – Choose Your Experience
Today offers you the flexibility to explore Meghalaya your way, with two captivating full- day excursions to choose from:
Option 1: Cherrapunji – Land of Waterfalls & Caves
Venture into the cloud-kissed hills of Cherrapunji, where you’ll witness the majestic Nohkalikai Falls, walk through the limestone wonder of Mawsmai Caves, and stop at the iconic Living Root Bridge in Riwai. A day of dramatic landscapes and natural marvels.
Option 2: Dawki & Mawlynnong – Rivers & Villages
Head south towards the Bangladesh border to discover Dawki’s crystal-clear Umngot River (optional boat ride) and explore the flower-lined lanes of Mawlynnong, famed as Asia’s cleanest village. Visit the Skywalk for sweeping valley views and see the mysterious Balancing Rock.
Return to Shillong by evening.
